In the first team game, Joey Niblett set the scoreboard ticking with a rapid running-in shot. The second goal was landed by Josh Cockburn, quickly followed by a quick shot by Chris Gubby, putting the Dragons to a 3-0 lead. After another shot on target from Gubby, the students netted a long shot.
The pace of the match barely slowed throughout the rest of the first half as Dragons player Helen Gubby took her chance and fired a short shot. University claimed another goal which was soon returned by Chris Gubby, followed by two from Lee O’Sullivan.
The Dragons defence remained strong with the student team only managing three goals. The final whistle blew at 17-3, keeping Dragons firmly at the top of the table.
Next week the Dragons head over the Severn to face Taunton Soul.
