If the Dragons first team match was full of tension, by winning the league a couple of weeks before, the seconds had earned the position of being able to play a nice, relaxed match.
This was even more true after they’d cruised into a 7-0 lead. Ian scored the first goal from 5 metres out, then twice drew the switch with James unlucky not to finish from them. He had more success as provider, setting up Helen for a finish close in.
After the change of ends, and several successful recycles of the ball, Ang set up Chris for a running in shot. Joey landed a long shot, then Kat profited from a chaotic passage of play to score. Helen scored her second, this time from Ian’s feed, then Joey found a great pass through to Angharad to allow her to finish from close range. Taunton grabbed their first goal from short range before James converted a penalty won by Kat before Kat scored her second of the match. 9-1 at half-time.
At the break Sian replaced Donna, and Josh came on for Chris, resulting in a significant drop in the standard of play and standard of information recorded about the goals. Taunton pulled one back, Angharad got her second, so did James, Ian scored a long shot, Remco came on for Joey and scored from close in. Taunton scored 2 long shots, sandwiching James’ running in shot, before Sian found acres of space to conclude the scoring at 15-4.
